yes if you use net frequently %26 download files then it is must as virus may delete your system file also so then you will have no option other than formatting so it is better to go for a good anti virus rather than taking the risk .but if you dont use internet ;then you r safe .you should be careful while installing external devices like pen drive which may contain virus.
