I'm going to go against the tide and say a big fat NO to the spyware and firewall. Furthermore, I'm a big advocate of AVG's absolutely free anti virus program, a completely efficient and near flawless piece of tree software which I'd match against anything on the market. It is hugely popular in Europe.
Spyware is okay, but creates lots of inconveniences for you as do firewalls. I run both of them on one computer and have a full complement of these on another..........not a dime's worth of difference except that I can get things done much quicker on the computer which doesn't put me through the extra steps.
Both are, however, protected by AVG which hasn't allowed a single virus, worm, trojan through in 5 or more years of use.'
No one likes to think that they've been suckered but it's my feeling that we have all been sold a Bill Gates bill of goods.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the chief purveyor of viruses, worms and Trojans are ..........guess who???? What a colossal amount of money we spend.........who benefits?
I have antivirus software with built in firewall and antispy software.is it neccessary?adware
antivirus and antispyware will catch different things. I would recommend keeping both. It's possible some of the anti-virus software will also catch spyware, but the anti-virus I use doesn't.
